October 2 - 23
“This is a silver lining story,” says artist Laurie Meyer. She’s talking about her new body of work for her upcoming solo exhibition – and what ignited her to create it. All of the paintings in Nature Is Nurture were, in fact, born in the time of Corona. “The pandemic and its restrictions encouraged my much-needed relationship with nature,” she says. “Since March, I walked, mountain hiked, walked some more, rode bikes on the beach, and walked some more. The slower pace was the gift! I looked and looked and saw what I was missing. It was nurturing to my soul, and thus, Nature is Nurture started to take shape. This is not a themed show, but instead a growth in a direction I plan to never leave.”
An all-day, pop-in opening celebration will be held on Friday, October 2, from 10am to 5pm.
